Code of Practice
1. Purpose
This Code of Practice is designed to provide information to our customers about how the services of Community Services Training & Development Centre (CSTDC), Morgan & Hay comply with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and outlines our commitment to you by demonstrating our approach to delivering a sound, ethical and quality service. CSTDC is a Registered Training Organisation under the Training and Skills Development Act 2008.
2. Our commitment to you
CSTDC is focused on meeting the needs of each person and business we work with which we are involved.
2.1 We will always conduct business in a sound, ethical and fair manner.
2.2 All marketing and advertising activities are conducted in an ethical, accurate and consistent manner.
2.3. We will advise you of all fees and charges and material costs you will be charged for throughout your training prior to entering into an agreement with you.
2.4. We have a refund policy that is fair and equitable and will be provided prior to enrolment.
2.5. We have systems in place to ensure that if we can’t fulfil our training obligations to you, that you will either receive the service from another RTO or a refund.
2.6. We will maintain your academic financial and other information in strict confidence and will not be given to a third party unless authorised by you or under law.
2.7. You may view your own records to confirm their accuracy and completeness.
3. Access and Equity
3.1. We comply with all Commonwealth and State legislation related to how we operate as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
3.2. We take steps to provide a safe, secure and healthy learning environment and ensure, as far as possible, that learning experiences are positive and free of discrimination or harassment.
3.3. You have access to your personal information at all times
3.4. Our policies and procedures ensure that you are treated fairly and receive all reasonable assistance to successfully complete your course after enrolment.
3.5. You will be informed of your rights, responsibilities and obligations prior to enrolment.
4. RTO’s Operations
Our organisation ensures we maintain industry currency and relevance by:
4.1 Employing staff who are appropriately qualified and experienced for their role and who are objective and act with integrity.
4.2 CSTDC aims to develop its courses with full participation and engagement from industry to ensure that our graduates hold the relevant skills and knowledge to the standard of performance required in the workplace.
4.3 All staff attending professional development seminars and workshops to ensure that we remain up-to-date with regulations, legislative and industry requirements.
4.5 Where your training or assessment occurs in a workplace, evidence of your performance will contribute to our assessments.
4.6 Our teaching and assessment staff continuously engage with industry to ensure their skills and knowledge reflect current industry practices.
5. Training and Assessment
5.1 Our organisation is committed to continuously improving the services it offers and will seek feedback through evaluation surveys conducted during and on completion of courses.
5.2 By collecting, analysing and acting on this data reported by our trainers, assessors, employers, enterprises and the learner, the services provided by our organisation will continue to be improved.
5.3 By consulting relevant industry representatives in the customising and development of our training and assessment strategies to ensure they are relevant to industry needs and meet the expectations of today’s employers and learners.
5.4 We will ensure that our organisation complies with the required standards for RTOs by conducting regular internal assessments.
5.5 We will maintain effective internal and external communications of our organisation through our web page.
5.6 We will use trainers and industry qualified staff on all delivery and assessment programs.
6. Recognition of Prior Learning
6.1 Our Trainers have relevant industry experience and vocational competence in their area of expertise.
6.2 We will recognise existing skills and knowledge that are relevant to your course outcomes.
6.3 We recognise that you may have skills and experience in the Community and Health industry which is relevant to your course outcomes.
6.4 We can assist you to gain recognition of these skills and experience through a process called Recognition of Prior Learning.
6.5 If you have completed relevant units of competency with another RTO, we will credit these towards completion of your qualification.
6.6 We adopt the principles of Adult learning tailoring our training and assessment services to meet your individual learning needs and legislative requirements.
