Home and Community Care (CHC40208)
This qualification addresses work in clients homes and other community settings within defined organisational guidelines and service plans.
These workers:

Carry out activities related to maintaining and individuals well being through personal care and/or other activities of living

May provide services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of older people

Work may include training and support to promote independence and community participation, which may be provided as part of activities and programs in a variety of home and community care settings

Report to service managers and liaise with professionals and other service providers

May be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.

Course Duration and Attendance
The course can be undertaken on either a full-time or part-time basis. Studying on a part time basis will require attendance only once a week for up to 18 weeks (Not including work placement and major case study). All courses are conducted on a regular basis.

Government funding may be available for eligible persons to cover cost of study.

Qualification and Further Study
Upon achieving competency and completion of the course, participants will achieve Certificate IV in Home and Community Care (CHC40208) which is recognised as an entry qualification for the diploma in Nursing.

Skills Recognition
Before the commencement of a course we offer the opportunity for students to be assessed for RPL (Recognition of prior learning), RCC (Recognition of Current Competencies), and CT (Credit Transfer). This could lower the cost of training and speed up the completion of the course.
Written evidence and assessment is required and will be reviewed by our training staff.
