Traineeships

An innovative approach to the delivery of training within the Traineeship Framework

CSTDC’s unique approach to Traineeships distinguishes it from other training providers in the following ways:

  • Learning is based on real and current case studies;
  • Learning focuses on the key competencies of active problem solving,
    team work and planning;
  • The collection and analysis of information that is relevant to the trainee’s
    organisation of employment; and
  • Relationships between the trainee, trainer and employer that are collaborative

Futures of Traineeships

  • A traineeship is a formal training agreement, registered with the Training and Skills Commission SA…
  • The employer agrees to provide employment and access to structured accredited training, in order to gain a skilled and productive worker.
  • Training is industry designed and competency based, and leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
  • Traineeships normally vary in length from 6 – 15 months, depending on the outcomes of credit transfer, workplace assessment and time commitment.
  • Formal training will be delivered with a combination of both on-the-job and off-the-job components.
