The course ‘Follow safe manual handling practices’ (HLTHSE204C) is a course for personal care workers to carry out their work in a safe manner within the health care environment. This course can be undertaken by anyone and is a great opportunity for people wanting to upgrade their skills and qualifications.
Through this course workers will gain an understanding and be trained to do the follow:
- Understand & Learn the NO Lift Policies , OHS
- Correct posture techniques
- Confidence building
- Positive technical skills
- ADL,s (activities of daily living)
- Correct transfer techniques
- Having the ability to work with in the Aged Care, Disability & Home Community Care sectors
- Wheelchair up and down a kerb
- Wheelchair in and out of a car boot
- Slippery sams/slide sheets
- Slings (correct use & types)
- Mechanical lifters / hoist
- Bed manoeuvres
- Stand transfers
- Moving people safely
- Correct posture
- Client in and out of a car
- Walking aids
Cost:
There are two options for payment:
1) One Day theory and practical – $145 (GST and materials inc.)
2) Half Day refresher/update (4 Hours) – $65 (GST and materials inc.)
