Medication Management Workshop
This is delivered as an accredited skill set over one full day. These units describes the skills and knowledge required to assist clients with medication in a home or community setting. Units of Competency delivered in this workshop are:
* HLTAP301B Recognise healthy body systems in a health care context * CHCCA305A Assist Clients with Medication
Assistance with medication is provided in accordance with:
- The relevant Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation including the Drugs and Poison’s Act and Regulations
- Relevant industry standards and guidelines
- Organisational policies and procedures written in accordance with the relevant legislation and reflecting the scope of role and accountability for the level of worker in that jurisdiction
During the course participants will gain an understanding and knowledge of:
- Apply knowledge of the basic structure of the healthy human body
- Apply basic knowledge of factors that support healthy functioning of the body
- Prepare to assist with medication administration
- Identify and prepare the client/resident for assistancve with administration of medication
- Assist/suppport client with administration of medication
- Assist/support medication administration according to prescription / instructions
- Complly with organisation’s procedures for handling the range of issues/contingencies which may arise
- Complete medication distribution and administration
- Sachet/Webster Pak
Statements of Attainment for accredited training will be issued on receipt of assessments. Cost:
$190 – Full day (9.30 – 3pm) (2 units of competency presented) $100 – Half day (1 units of competency or Refresher)
